I do not test because:
We do not know enough about this desease!
There are made mistakes in reading and scanning!
People involved only investigate this desease because they want to promote!
There is no MRI scanner in our country!
The price of the MRI scan is too high!
I have never had a dog who had this!
My line is healthy so I do not need to MRI my dogs!
Not painful?

Excuses
And how about the vets who put all their time in developing a test and put money of their own in a research? Will they get the well earned respect of the breeders like they should get? Certainly not enough!! When pressure of society is getting higher and nobody can put their head in the sand anymore then the blaming start.
A better way
A better way would be if more breeders start testing their dogs so that more data becomes available. The more information the faster scientist can give us answers how to deal with the situation. We cannot expect that after just a few dogs are tested that the answers are clear. There are many facts needed before a defect can be located and advices can be given to solve the problem or to lower the cases of sick dogs. This need time and a lot of test results.
Let’s not put the blame on those who put so much work into this investigation, searching for this genetic defect we together have spread through our beloved breed (many just by not knowing but still...) but let us help them by testing our dogs so in return we help ourselves and our breed. There is really no excuse not to test.
